7 Day Fast: Day 6
Juice Fast + Nutrient Dense Meal
Fresh, Homemade Carrot Juice (Carrots, Beets, Ginger)
Fresh, Homemade Green Juice (Spinach, Celery, Cucumber)
Raw Liver + Salt
Raw Bone Marrow
Organic Raw Potato Starch
Organic Raw Psyllium Husk
Yes, I know this is technically not “fasted,” but I am still in a ridiculous calorie deficit, and most likely still in ketosis. Also, the foods I ate are by no means enjoyable by any stretch of the imagination. As per the plan I initially outlined, I wanted to take the final few days of this fast to reinvigorate my body with a large variety of vitamins, minerals and nutrients. I can say, without question, that I’m huuuuuungry.
The vegetable juices were for the vitamins and minerals, which are more easily absorbed in juice form. The raw liver and bone marrow were for additional nutrients and a slew of other health benefits. The potato starch and psyllium husk were for metabolic and gut health.
After consuming this combo at the beginning of Day 6, I felt like I was on fire. I was able to work a full day of contracting (if you’ve ever dealt with vinyl siding, you know how much that sucks) and felt even and energetic all day. I am now extremely tired, and that’s a good thing - it’s time for my body to be tired.
After a long day, my brain is mush. I’m going to keep this one short - tomorrow I will be writing a full review of the fast, a breakdown of why I did what I did and when, and everything I’ve learned. It’s been such a wild experience, and today it all crystallized. I’ve been searching for an answer, but I didn’t even know the question. All of a sudden, everything’s clear. I’ll explain more about that in depth tomorrow.
