I’ve got a busy week ahead, and I can’t wait to share the journey with all of you. Here’s a list of things you can expect this week:
MURPH
Tomorrow is the last day of 100 Days 100 Murphs. I’ve done “Murph” - a CrossFit-inspired workout named after LT. Michael P. Murphy - every day for the last 3+ months. I’ll be writing a full synopsis of my experience over the last 100 days, along with the pro’s and con’s and everything I’ve learned from my experience. I’ll also be launching my next “100 Days” module, in which I’ll be inviting anyone interested to join me. You can message me here or follow me on Instagram (@moder.bronze) for more info.
FAST
As soon as Murph #100 is complete, I start my 7-day fast. I will be writing about this every day, experimenting with a stream-of-consciousness style of writing. I want to get the mental process of fasting on paper as accurately as I can, and I think this is the best way to do it. I’ve never done stream-of-consciousness writing, so this will also be a new challenge for me. I’ll explain more about the fast in my writings this week.
VIDEO
It is my goal this week to experiment with more video content, both here on SubStack and on my social media accounts (Instagram & TikTok, primarily). “Talking head” video content has always been a bit of a struggle for me (see my Instagram stories during the last 100 days of Murph - hah!), but there’s too much I want to talk about to let that get in the way. It’s time to face the elephant in the room and do this right. I’ll be making a video for the Murph recap, and making videos every day during the fast. I’m excited to see how that comes out, bruises and all.
THE BRONZEMAN
I am so-fucking-excited to get The Bronzeman, my new Sunday newsletter, underway. There’s a ton of things I need to figure out to do it right, especially regarding paid subscribers to Daily Reflections and providing valuable weekly content. This is my “big” task for the week, and one I’m excited about. There’s a solution to everything, even if I can’t see it at the moment.
MEDIUM
I’m going to start moving some of my content over to the writing platform Medium, which is something I’ve been putting off for the last 3 months. Ideally, I’d love to produce The Bronzeman via that platform, but I don’t know if that’s feasible with the structure I have setup with Substack. Meditate on this, I will (in Yoda voice).
I kinda like this idea of setting up my goals for the week in my Monday Reflections. Now that I’ve written them down, I’m responsible to keep my word to all of you. Also, I think it’s helpful for writers and creators to share their process and struggles for others to see - I know that’s the content I get most value out of from other creators.
What are you looking forward to this week? Any big things you have to tackle? If so, I want to hear about it! Leave a comment, DM me on Instagram, or just shout loudly out of you window - I’ll hear you, I promise ;) This is what it’s all about - big challenges, tall mountains and the will to overcome any problems that we face.
This week, let’s do it together.
P.S. Shameless content plugs:
If you’re interested in health & fitness, I’ll be starting a newsletter called The Bronzeman, which will be released every Sunday. It will cover weightlifting, different styles of training, nutrition and everything in between.
If you’re interested in poetry, I’ve started a newsletter dedicated entirely to poetry called Poetry in the Dark. Starting next week, this will be released once a week on Wednesdays.
I've got to finish Pragmatism by William James by Wednesday and I am only 20% through it. Wish me luck
