I’m not all that into black magic, although history definitely proves that its methods have been fruitful for some. Today, I want to leave you with the short quote above, written by the king of black magic himself - Alistair Crowley.
Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law.
Rather than taking this in a negative direction, I want to give a slightly different interpretation. My sponsor always tells me, “You’re gunna go what you’re gunna do,” and that comes to mind when I hear this quote.
The truth is, in a short time, we’ll all be dead. Our entire race as we know it will be gone - moved to Mars, replaced by A.I., whatever it may be. The thoughts, feelings, and emotions we experience will be lost to history, just like each and every one of us who came before. So, what does this all mean?
It means that whatever you do, is. Whatever happens, happens. The sinners and the saints both dissipate in the end. Do whatever it is you like. That may hurt people, that may not. That may inspire people, that may not. But whatever it is, it’s you. You can spend your life blaming yourself and others, you can spend your life not caring about anyone else at all - like the waves, all souls return to the ocean they came from.
Rest easy. Take a load off. Try not to take everything so seriously. If you have to be nice, be nice. If you have to be mean, be mean. What’s in your best interest doesn’t always look pretty. That’s okay - you’re not the center of the universe, and neither am I. We’re just tiny grains of sand on the infinite beach of life.
I hope you can find some comfort in that. I know I certainly do.
